The role leads and drives all software development activities as part of a global and crossfunctional product development team. With its entrepreneurial spirit, the role contributes greatly to the digital transformation of Oetiker’s products and the creating of new digital product opportunities.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and develop a secure and optimized storage solutions for structured and unstructured data using cloud, native or hybrid infrastructure.</li> <li>Design and implement robust solutions for gathering and processing of data using distributed computing frameworks.</li> <li>Collaborate in interdisciplinary, global development projects teams.</li> <li>Collaborate with external partners</li> <li>Support internal and external customers</li> <li>Ensure data privacy, compliance especially when handling customer data</li> <li>Contribute to the development of Oetiker’s Digital Product strategy</li> <li>General project work (agile) and departmental tasks</li> </ul> <p><u><strong>Skills</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>Proven drive (energy, determination, motivation) and a can-do mentality.</li> <li>Proven knowhow in software development life cycle and backend development with a focus on data engineering, storage, and cloud platforms</li> <li>Strong knowledge of cloud storage technologies (AWS, Azure, Google cloud etc)·</li> <li>Experience in distributed data processing technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop or similar, containerised environment, microservices architecture and data security.</li> <li>Exposure to real time data streaming tools (Kafka), IoT is a plus·</li> <li>Familiar with modern collaboration tools such as Confluence for document purpose , JIRA for bug tracking etc.</li> <li>Proficiency in software version management systems in Git</li> <li>Experience with CI/ CD, unit testing frameworks</li> <li>Experience in collaboration with different stakeholder (FW, HW, PM, QA)</li> <li>Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus</li> <li>Precise and analytical working style with a high commitment to quality</li> <li>Excellent communication skills in English (B2 level)</li> <li>Team player with a high degree of intellectual curiosity</li> </ul> </div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-qualifications"><div> <p class="googlejobs-paragraph--empty"/> <h2 class="title">Qualifications</h2> </div> <div class="wysiwyg" itemprop="qualifications"><ul> <li>Degree (BSc or MSc) in Computer Science / Software Engineering or similar</li> <li>5-year experience in Software Development</li> <li>Experience in C#, Java</li> <li>Experience in any script language i.e. PowerShell, Python or similar</li> </ul></div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-videos">  <ul class="grid grid--semigutter video-items">    <li class="video-item column wide-1of3 medium-1of3 small-1of2">      <div class="video js-video" data-sr-track="video" data-video-type="YOUTUBE" data-video="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ld-ZugETyvw?autoplay=1" data-title="Storage Software Engineer">        <a class="button button--clean video-button js-video-play video-button__YOUTUBE" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=Ld-ZugETyvw" target="_blank" aria-label="Videos To Watch" title="Videos To Watch">          <i class="video-caret" title="Videos To Watch"/>        </a>      </div>    </li>  </ul></section></body></html>
