You will be a key player in guiding decisions regarding architecture, engineering and design decisions for scheduling domain within Setmore.</div><div>  <br/></div><div>  <strong>Roles and responsibilities<br/></strong></div><div>  <br/></div><ul><li>Drive our efforts in designing Backend architecture.</li><li>Develop new features in our stack.</li><li>Write high-performing, clean code that is easy to test and maintain.</li><li>Perform regular code reviews.</li><li>Passionately pursue zero-defect code and support other developers to ensure that the deliverables exceed business expectations.</li><li>Assist in defining and refining our internal standards, practices, and processes to continuously improve our outcomes.</li><li>Champion performance, reliability, and security of our products and services across multiple devices and browsers.</li><li>Refactor existing codebase to improve readability, maintainability, and performance.</li><li>Act as a subject matter expert and support your colleagues.</li><li>Regularly collaborate with other engineers, designers, QAs, and PMs.</li><li>Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation to support effective collaboration and understanding across teams.</li><li>Identify, troubleshoot and promptly resolve backend issues and bugs to ensure a smooth user experience.<strong><br/></strong></li></ul><div>  <br/></div><div>  <br/></div><div><strong>Job requirements (</strong><strong>Must have)</strong></div><ul><li>3-7 years of experience building scalable, maintainable and cross-platform web applications using modern technologies.</li><li>Excellent working knowledge of backend technologies including Java 17, Spring Boot, RESTEasy, Node.js, Express, and Redis.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Design Patterns: REST API, and Messaging - Cloud Pub/Sub (or Kafka or Amazon equivalent).</li><li>Strong experience working on the API design and integration, API versioning and change management, and proficiency in API design best practices.</li><li>Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases, including strong understanding of ACID.</li><li>Experience or certification with GCP.</li><li>Committed to writing clean code and following software development best practices and standards.</li><li>Experience in working on high-traffic applications.</li><li>Experience with microservices architecture.</li><li>Experience in working with distributed systems.</li><li>Experience with CI/CD systems.</li><li>Experience dealing with performance and optimisation problems, particularly at large scale; must have a demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent these problems.</li><li>Experience in working on at least a few different products with different objectives, limitations and challenges and flexibility in figuring out the best approach.</li><li>Experience in refactoring code to improve the design and structure of the product.</li><li>Ability to be an individual contributor and a proactive team player based on the requirements of the hour.</li><li>Ability to navigate the challenges and maximise the opportunities that arise while working in a remote environment with diverse global teams using various modes of communication and information sharing.</li><li>Committed to collaborating to solve problems together with empathy and creativity.</li><li>C1 level of English language proficiency (both written and verbal).</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and / or organisational problems.</li><li>Experience in mentoring and training junior engineers.<strong><br/></strong></li></ul><div>  <br/></div><div>  <strong>Good to have</strong></div><ul><li>Experience with GitHub Actions.</li><li>Experience with Gradle.</li><li>Knowledge of booking/ scheduling domain or experience working on related products.</li><li>Working experience in SaaS products.</li><li>Experience in building product from scratch.</li></ul></body></html>
