Keeps contact with tax advisors and proposes improvements on this matter. Calculate the taxes a company owes and process and file tax returns. Analyze a company's tax policies to make sure they are in compliance with the law. Understand local, state, and federal tax laws and stay up to date on changes to laws. Oversee preparation for and the conducting of audits. POSITION PROFILE: (Basic Purpose of Position) Reporting to the Supervisor Tax, is responsible for preparing and filing Tax Returns, preparing and posting USGAAP tax balances and supporting audits. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Preparing Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Trade Tax (TT), and Secondary Tax filings in multiple countries in Europe in partnership with external tax advisors, ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulations.</li><li>Preparing Return to Provision (RTP) summaries to ensure true-up entries proposed are accurate.</li><li>Posting authorized RTP entries.</li><li>Feedback to future USGAAP entries based on RTP adjustments identified to improving accuracy of the USGAAP entries and minimizing RTP adjustment entries.</li><li>Prepare USGAAP Provision Tax entries as required ensuring accuracy and adherence to US regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with the Avantor Corporate Tax in US.</li><li>Act as a liaison with Statutory Accountants regarding external audit tax requirements.</li><li>Reconcile Tax Payable / Tax Receivable positions with tax department statements.</li><li>Communicate directly with Tax Authorities on all notices to and from the company.</li><li>Collaborate closely with other departments within the broader Finance and Tax teams.</li><li>Onesource tax upload file preparation.</li><li>Support tax audits.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications) <ul><li>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in taxation, economics, finance, law, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in a tax accounting environment.</li><li>Experience in a multinational group environment is preferred.</li></ul>  KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently) <ul><li>Strong technical knowledge of tax laws, compliance, and advisory practices.</li><li>Analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach.</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.</li><li>Fluency in English</li><li>Collaborative and solution-driven working style with a proactive mindset.</li><li>Open and adaptable attitude, embracing diverse challenges in a supportive and dynamic environment</li></ul> ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions) <ul><li>Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.</li><li>Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.</li><li>A regular volume of work and deadlines impose reasonable strain on a routine basis.</li><li>Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.</li><li>Ability to travel a few times per year but no more than 10%.
