Accordingly, associates may be asked to perform duties that are outside the specific functions that are listed.PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Marketing Content Specialist – Editor & Writer will lead the development and execution of all written content and online content strategy for brands, forming both internal product content, core and campaign content. This role also acts as liaison to inform content strategy, content creation, editorial and successful content integration across all company and customer touch points. This candidate will be an excellent writer, editor and super communicator, with a deep knowledge of current and upcoming online marketing trends, beauty trends and proven experience building and managing content calendars, large-scale projects, directing a team of writers and content creators, driving overall corporate content strategy, and defining the brand and products with strategically placed content in the market.The role will also develop product briefs and summaries that will be shared with between the product development team, outside parties, manufacturers, distributors, and partners. This position works closely with several key groups including Digital, Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Product Development, Research and Education to ensure that all forms of content, both low and high-fidelity content aligns with brand strategy and creative aesthetic. It requires a strong understanding of the digital and social media landscape as a key place for brand storytelling to enhance the consumer experience and drive conversation for the brand. The ideal candidate should be solutions oriented, forward thinking, highly organized with a creative flair. They should have the ability to see the big picture while simultaneously being able to execute on a tactical level. It will be required for this role to direct a team, while simultaneously contributing to the content effort.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES❖ Contribute to the development of the overarching brand content and online strategy and manage the execution of the content strategy across all touch points and platforms❖ Oversee the development of the content calendar to support “always on” evergreen content, social media, campaign’s needs, global market and retail partner needs❖ Develop content, including overseeing the creation of copy, captions, emails and any other copy content❖ Manage the flow of copy content creation to ensure content is developed in a timely manner, proactively finding opportunities and efficiencies to maximize content opportunities❖ Maintain a product lifecycle roadmap (work closely w/ Product Development team and Summer)❖ Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on content, knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, products, and beauty trends.❖ Initiate market research studies and analyse their findings.❖ Identify appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report key metrics from digital campaigns.❖ Conduct online marketing initiatives, develop content strategies, affiliate programs, sponsorship programs, email promotions, or viral marketing campaigns on various online platforms.❖ Create content strategies for digital media.❖ Collect and analyse Web metrics, such as visits, time on site, page views per visit, transaction volume and revenue, traffic mix, click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, or cost per click.❖ Assist in optimizing analytics tools for tracking customer behaviours.❖ Coordinate with developers to optimize Web site content, email content, social content and other types of content as needed from time to time.❖ Develop product briefs and summaries for the Product Development team.❖ Conduct online marketing initiatives, such as paid ad placement, affiliate programs, sponsorship programs, email promotions, or viral marketing campaigns on social media Web sites.❖ Participate in the development or implementation of online marketing strategy.❖ Improve search-related activities through ongoing analysis, experimentation, or optimization tests, using A/B or multivariate methods.❖ Optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO) or for display and usability on internet-connected devices.❖ Create content strategies for digital media.❖ Manage tracking and reporting of search-related activities and provide analyses to marketing team to drive strategy.❖ Optimize Web site exposure by analysing search engine patterns to direct online placement of keywords or other content.❖ Communicate and collaborate with distributors, partners, Webmasters, bloggers, or online editors to strategically place hyperlinks.❖ Evaluate new emerging media or technologies and make recommendations for their application within Internet marketing or search marketing campaigns especially as it relates to content strategies.❖ Collaborate with other marketing staff to integrate and complement marketing strategies across multiple sales channels.❖ Execute or manage social media campaigns to inform search marketing tactics.❖ Propose online or multiple-sales-channel campaigns to marketing executives.❖ Conduct market research analysis to identify search query trends, real-time search and news media activity, popular social media topics, electronic commerce trends, market opportunities, or competitor performance.❖ Execute or manage banner content, video content, or other text link ad campaigns.❖ Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and knowledge❖ Moderate the collection, curation and integration of user-generated content on social media and the e-commerce website❖ Potentially manage team of writers and their work.❖ Execute and manage communications with digital journalists or bloggers.❖ Coordinate sales or other promotional strategies with merchandising, operations, or inventory control staff to ensure product catalogues are current, accurate, and organized for best findability against user intent.❖ Collaborate with web, multimedia, or art design staffs to create multimedia sites, product pages or other internet content that conforms to brand and company visual format.KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES❖ Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.❖ English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, prose and grammar. Strong English writing skills are required.❖ Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.❖ Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
