Lead Specialist - Retention and Deal StrategyThis role relies on a strong foundation in financial analysis to drive financial visibility into client engagements.  The analyst plays a pivotal role in pulling and synthesizing multiple reports from Mercer’s financial system, performing financial analysis, and providing business colleagues with a consolidated, client-centric view of project financials:<ul><li>This position will support the Commercial team with various pricing, scoping and business case projects, and interact with Mercer consultants and client teams to define value proposition, support pricing strategy, and update billing rates. </li><li>You will be able to use your natural skills and be a part of a stimulating and learning-filled environment</li></ul> We will count on you to:<ul> <li>Conduct research and analysis or pricing and profitability for various products and services, including:<ul><li>Internal cost of sales analysis</li><li>Internal business pricing analysis</li><li>Line of business sales growth and retention analysis</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Competitive research and analysis</li><li>Draft custom client bill rate schedules</li><li>Support the team in preparing Client Value Reports and Request for Proposal responses</li><li>Communicate financial analysis within the CoE and to business partners and colleagues, summarizing the situation, highlighting relevant factors, and suggesting areas of risk.</li></ul><ul><li>Preparation of financial summaries, including but not limited to, the application/use of commission received, benchmarking of fees/commissions, calculation of ROI </li><li>Provide Ad hoc analytical support to Consultants and/or Commercial Team members, such as:<ul><li>Sensitivity analysis</li><li>Win rates</li><li>Billable time</li><li>Billing audits</li><li>Pricing models</li><li>Scope reconciliation</li><li>Discount/retention</li><li>Contract Structure</li><li>Negotiation Preparation</li></ul></li></ul> What you need to have: <ul><li>Minimum 12 months experience as Lead Specialist (D1) / Manager (D2)</li><li>Should have at least “On-Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal.</li><li>Should not be under any Performance Counselling Plan or had any official disciplinary action within the last 3 months.</li><li>Should not have applied for any other IJP in the last 3 months.</li></ul><ul><li>4-6 years’ experience in a large professional services organization with at least 2 years in a similar financial analysis role</li><li>Graduate degree in finance, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, or similar degree (preference for an analytics-based degree)</li><li>Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills</li><li>Experience with financial systems and reporting; comfortable pulling reports from various financial systems to build a consolidated view</li><li>Understanding of operational metrics, including sales analytics, client profitability and pricing</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders</li><li>Intellectual curiosity, seeking opportunities to develop new skills and automate processes</li><li>Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills</li></ul> What makes you stand out?<ul><li>Prior experience in a pricing analyst role</li><li>Prior experience in consulting firms</li></ul> Why join our team:<ul><li>We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.</li><li>We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.</li><li>Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.</li></ul>Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), is a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work and enhance health and retirement outcomes for their people.
