Women’s History Month has been a time of inspiration and empowerment at GLOBALFOUNDRIES (GF), with colleagues at our sites around the world joining in celebration. I would like to share some highlights of the many Women’s History Month events and programs GF held throughout March.

The month started on an exceptionally high note with International Women’s Day (IWD). GF has participated in IWD for several years, and each year it centers around showcasing GF’s commitment to women and celebrating women’s achievements. 

This year’s IWD theme was “Choose to Challenge,” and GF colleagues from around the globe participated in a photo campaign to pledge their support and share how they, personally, would challenge themselves and others to challenge gender bias and inequality

Reflecting on Women’s History Month at GLOBALFOUNDRIES

At GlobalFoundries, the title of Master Inventor is reserved for colleagues with at least 20 issued U.S. patents and who have a demonstrated track record of technical accomplishments and intellectual property (IP) asset creation. 

The program is a powerful platform for honoring prolific employees as well as motivating other employees who may have been thinking about submitting their inventions for patenting.

Along with inspiring and mentoring their colleagues, Master Inventors serve as advisors and are a resource for GF’s technology leaders and legal team on a range of technical, strategic, and IP topics.

We spoke with GF Master Inventor Yan Ping Shen, on our Malta team, to learn about the process of inventing and get a closer look at the spirit of innovation at GF.

GF India women leaders have participated in WE Local Bengaluru conference as speakers and won best breakout session awards. 
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE'24) National conference which is world&rsquo;s largest conference for Women in Engineering and Technology to be held in Chicago, USA will be attended by a 35-member team of GF women leaders from across the globe, including three from the GF India site, who will be speaking at the conference.

This position is for a CAD flow/ EDA Engineer who will work on EDA/CAD related topics. The successful candidate needs to have a good background in working on CAD/EDA infrastructure and needs to be a team player with a solution-oriented approach.Your Job<ul style="text-align: justify;"><li>Work on CAD design environment, PDK versioning and enablement and Tool license management related topics.</li><li>Digital design background with Skill/python, scripting, logic verification and porting database.</li><li>Support and development for our existing QA flow.</li><li>Manage timely resolution of issues related to EDA tool features, Tool flows and methodologies</li><li>Work with cross-geo, cross-vertical teams to understand requirements and communicate resolution</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul style="text-align: justify;"><li>Requires a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or equivalent degree in a related field from an accredited university.</li><li>Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal.</li><li>Design Engineer with knowledge of EDA tools and flows - PnR tools, Layout (Virtuoso), PERC etc.</li><li>Proficiency with data analytics, data organization and be able to understand usage and statistics for EDA tools</li><li>Must have proficient knowledge of and experience with Unix environment</li><li>Must have hands-on experience with SKILL language</li><li>Should be fluent with Cadence EDA tools for schematic and physical layout, design rule checking (DRC), layout versus schematic checking (LVS, schematic and layout extraction, methodology checking)</li><li>Must have good technical verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams is necessary</li><li>Be able to collaborate with program and technical design leads on multiple concurrent projects.</li><li>Should have excellent problem-solving skills, written & oral communication, teaming & interpersonal skills</li><li>Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs</li><li>Familiarity with standard engineering practices like Version Control systems, Configuration Management and Regression process</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Knowledge of scripting languages like Python/Perl</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Experience with PowerBI, Excel, Powerpoint and other office productivity tools</li></ul>
