Job PurposeRole holder for all Electrical Engg related matters in Petro Retail . For the roll-out, he is reponsible for the design of electrical power to all critical elements which connect directly to customers. These elements have a direct bearing on RIL propositions as they are customer facing touch points. His team ensures designs cover the diversity and geographical variance of locations, specifications are safe, operable, cost-effective, reliable and customer friendly with efficient life-cycle cost. With regular updation, the team leverages the latest developments/enhancement in technology to provide competitive advantage to business on continual basis.Key AccountabilitiesEngineer & Implement Projects to meet Business Requirementsi. Lead selection of Engg Consultant from the perspective of for Electrical Engg Capabilityii. Closely work with Engg Consultant for on areas related to electrical domain on engineering of Petro Retail projects· Set standards for uniformity across all designs· Review of concepts\sign-off all design and spec documents· Approve Design Basisiii. Understand Business requirements and finalise design basis incorporating latest technology providing competitive edge to business.iv. Validate TBE/TR for powers systems/equipmentv. Participate in vendor evaluation and qualification.vi. Hold project Quality plan and proceduresvii. Plan electrical systems and equipment meeting all statutory norms, business requirements and customer needsviii. Approve technical bid packages, technical evaluation and participate in technical negotiations.ix. Provide resolution to escalated field issues related to engg, conduct field audits and suggest necessary corrective action during constructionx. Review terms and conditions and DOR related to Electrical systems in Engg and Contract documentsxi. Finalise execution keeping in mind cost optimisation and project timelinesDesign and Implement Profit Improvement Opportunities(PIO)i. Understand operational requirements and provide competitive engineered solutions.ii. Value engineering without compromising on ESH and operational requirements.Adoption of technology solutions to gain competitive advantagei. Attend and participate in professional group meeting/seminars/Think tank, stay abreast of new trends.ii. Research emerging/new products and recommend their applicability to business.iii. Anchor Engineering analysis of projects to provide: preliminary design, alternatives, life cycle cost leading to equipment selection with appropriate technology.Process Management towards Operational Excellencei. Advise on major projects and technical matters involving concepts and principles.ii. Develop and standardise procedures and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness of engineering services.iii. Provide technical direction and guidance for all product development.People Development for Enhanced Capability & Productivityi. Participate in selection, coordinate training and evaluation of assigned personnelii. Create in-house competency to meet all Engineering needs of Petroleum Businessiii. Mentor subordinate to take up higher responsibilitiesiv. Create a culture within the team for “Value Engineering”.HSEi. Review and modify engineering designs incorporating latest HSE requirements.ii. Ensure design incorporate latest local HSE requirements and are in line with company’s policyCustomer Satisfactioni. Establish and maintain relationships with required external Vendors/Suppliers/Agencies to ensure that project and engineering requirements are met in collaborative means.ii. To provide engineering solution to business enabling customer delight, repeatability.iii. Review feed backs from internal and external customers and initiate corrective action.Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)<ul style="text-align: justify;"><li>Sound knowledge of engineering specifications, project procedures and work instructions</li><li>Power system, illumination</li><li>Electrical Design Criteria</li><li>Budgeting and cost control</li><li>Multi-discipline knowledge -significance and validation of design inputs</li><li>Latest technologies including design of VFC drives</li><li>Value Engineering methodology</li><li>Sound logical and analytical skills</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Application of knowledge based on past experience</li><li>Ability to impart training</li></ul>Key Decisions<ul style="text-align: justify;"><li>Approval of Design Basis</li><li>Approve new specifications/procedures for alternate material/methods</li><li>Provide technical decision for special projects requiring engineering and HSE expertise. </li><li>Recommend technology/standards for competitive advantage</li><li>Provide views on Selection of engineering consultant and finalising the deliverables</li></ul>Experience and QualificationsNecessary: Degree in Electrical EngineeringFamiliarity to power system analysis & protection conditioningFamiliarity of various software tools of electrical designs i.e. cables sizing, earthing & lighting calculations.Desirable: M.Tech. in power systemExperience : Minimum 15 years in the field of detailed engineering for Electrical systems in the following domains :•Design of power systems.•Power Conditiioning and Variable Frequency drives•Illumination and lighting
