The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, accountable for ensuring on-time delivery (OTD), fostering vendor relationships through negotiation, teamwork, and strong communication skills. Alerting management when orders have been filled and invoices from vendors have been issued, answering vendor questions, and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.</span></p></div></div><div><div><h2>A Day In The Life</h2></div><div><p><strong>Role and Responsibilities</strong>: Planning and Buying, Inventory management, Material follow up, negotiation, Vendor performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.</p><ul type="disc"><li><span>Selecting and developing suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality and on-time delivery.</span></li><li><span>Analyzing and evaluating materials and products.</span></li><li><span>Handles procurements for build-to-print parts after determining price and availability through formal and informal requests for quotes (RFQs).</span></li><li><span>Proficient in procuring active components, passive elements, and electromechanical parts.</span></li><li><span>Perform standard purchasing process, review requisitions and place PO’s.</span></li><li><span>The buyer will negotiate with suppliers on all conflicts and/or questions concerning pricing, delivery dates, quality and required packaging.  </span></li><li><span>Verifies receipt of materials and approves invoices for payment as required. </span></li><li><span>Research and provide constant feedback to department and management relative to material shortages and supplier’s capacity and capabilities.</span></li><li><span>Act as a liaison between vendor and engineering to evaluate technical questions. </span></li><li><span>Ability to prioritize with vendor and expedite material under lead time.</span></li><li><span>Process non-conforming material requests (MRBR) and RMA requests with distributors/vendors, in a timely manner.</span></li><li><span>Ability to handle multiple vendors/priorities with minimal supervision. </span></li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2>What will help you thrive in this role?</h2></div><div><p><strong>Skills and Attributes</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with co-workers and suppliers.</li><li>Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.</li><li>Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings and specifications desired</li><li>Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.</li><li>Able to work well under pressure and handle emergencies and stressful situations.</li></ul><p><span>Keen attention to detail and accuracy</span></p></div></div></div>        </span></body></html>
