Providing training and career development opportunities and emphasizing strong support for our local communities through philanthropic initiatives are essential to our culture.For additional information please visit our website at <a href="http://www.oaktreecapital.com/" target="_blank">www.oaktreecapital.com</a>.ResponsibilitiesThe Accounting Analyst will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for Multi Strategy Accounting as well as reporting to internal groups at Oaktree including the PMs of the fund.Responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Preparing and maintaining the books and records</li><li>Preparing the daily NAV, cash and position reconciliation process for a multi-strategy credit fund</li><li>Work on cash break resolution</li><li>Work on position/asset break resolution</li><li>Assess and process journal entries for the accrual of expenses</li><li>Recording and reconciling of purchase and sale transactions;</li><li>Recording capital activity based on daily reporting prepared by the Transfer Agent</li><li>Assist with the accounting and recording for complex corporate actions;</li><li>Estimating and posting of monthly closing accruals;</li><li>Review of semi-annual and annual financial reports prepared by the fund administrator; including working with auditors and audit preparation</li><li>Preparing quarterly corporate reporting, templates, etc. (4-pagers, FAS 157, SOI)</li><li>Coordinating with funds’ independent auditors, custodians, and administrators;</li><li>Assist in expense analysis, corporate expense reimbursement, expense cap tracking,</li><li>Wire payment preparation and communication</li><li>Preparing and/or assisting with the preparation of various ad-hoc requests from client services and the investment teams;</li><li>Preparation of key inputs into compliance system for AIFMD Reporting</li><li>Assist in internal and external audit confirmation responses.</li><li>Performing other tasks as required.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 5 -7 years relevant accounting or audit experience within Big Four public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience;</li><li>Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;</li><li>Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant [investment company] accounting rules;</li><li>Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;</li><li>Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems</li><li>Financial Reporting and ARC experience is add on</li></ul>Personal Attributes<ul><li>Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent work ethic;</li><li>Great organizational skills and is able to prioritize and handle complicated work efficiently and effectively;     </li><li>Takes initiative to ask questions and detect problems;</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively both individually and as a team; and</li><li>Ability to understand and resolve complex problems.</li></ul>EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
