DIVERSITY HIRING WITH SPECIFIC FOCUS ON CORE OPERATIONSAs part of our workplace transformation, JSW Group aims to achieve 15% gender diversity mix by FY30 from the current mix of 6%. During the last few years, the Group has been undertaking several measures focused on creating a healthy gender diversity mix.

Key Highlights of JSW Group’s Diversity Journey So Far:

JSW Group has stepped up women hiring across grades & functions in all its businesses.

We have institutionalized a practice of recruiting 30% women as part of our Graduate Engineer’s Training (GET) programme. This unique programme focusses on recruiting Engineering talent for manufacturing roles across our factories.

We have launched JSW SpringBoard Program, an unique initiative in collaboration with IIM Bangalore, to identify & groom high performing women employees for leadership roles across the Group.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION IN JSW STEEL – KEY INITIATIVES

JSW Steel Vasind Works: At the JSW Steel’s Vasind Works facility, we have one Steel Coating Line unit fully operated by women. We also have another steel coating line and a new state-of-the-art cold rolling mill largely operated by women engineers. These units are operated by more than 100 women engineers at Vasind in Maharashtra. These are metal coating units for GI/GL steel products and is an integral part of the JSW Steel Coated products business.

JSW Steel Vijayanagar Works: The latest Coil to Plate & Sheet Processing Line unit at JSW Steel Vijayanagar is entirely managed by women engineers. There more than 60 women engineers managing these operations. The Coil to Plate & Sheet Processing Line unit is a state-of-the-art unit established through a technical collaboration with FIMI, Italy.

JSW Steel’s Kashmir Unit: JSW Steel is setting up a state-of-the-art colour-coated steel manufacturing facility. The Steel facility is being constructed in Pulwama’s Lassipora Industrial Area. The facility is expected to be commissioned in March 2024 and will be operated with more than 50 percent women employees. This initiative not only meets our gender diversity objectives but also aims to create inclusive workplace that will offer opportunities for local women to become economically self-reliant.

JSW IS STEPPING UP FOCUS ON MILLENIAL RECRUITMENT TO ENHANCE DEMOGRAPHIC MIX ACROSS ALL GROUP BUSINESSES

As part of our talent strategy, JSW believes in developing leaders from within. Accordingly, the Group has been consistently hiring fresh Engineers from the top Engineering Institutions year on year. With our progressive people policies and exciting career opportunities, JSW Group is able to attract young millennials from the campuses. In fact, for the batch of 2023, JSW Group inducted close to 1500 Graduate Engineers out of an aspirational pool of 51,000 applicants. Out of these 1500 graduate engineers, approximately 30% are women who are currently are being trained and deployed majorly in various roles across our manufacturing facilities.
