Maternity Leave Policy

  1. If you have been in continuous service for less than 1 year prior to going on maternity leave, you will be entitled to up to 26 weeks of maternity leave with full pay and benefits.
  2. If you have been in continuous service for more than 1 year prior to going on maternity leave, you will be entitled to up to 26 weeks of maternity leave with full pay and benefits, and a flexible work arrangement for a maximum of 26 weeks (from the date when you resume work).
  3. As per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017, you can avail maternity leave from 8 weeks prior to, and including, the day of the delivery. These 8 weeks will be counted as part of your total maternity leave. Should you, for medical reasons, need to take leave earlier on, you can do so through our Sick Leave policy.
  4. Your flexible work arrangement will include a minimum of 27.5 hours per week in the office, with the option to work from home for the rest of the time.
  5. During maternity leave, your performance and talent ratings will be the same as the ratings in your last performance cycle.
  6. If you are on probation and go on/return from maternity leave, your confirmation will be based on your performance assessment from your date of joining and the decision of your manager.
  7. You will be entitled to Performance Linked Variable Pay (PLVR) for the year as per your regular work arrangement.
  8. Consolidated Privilege Leave will continue to be accrued at the normal rate during paid and unpaid maternity leave. If you do not return to work, you will be paid for any outstanding accrued leave. Any leave taken in excess of your annual entitlement will be deducted from your final pay

Transportation Facility

VEHICLE ASSISTANCE FOR WOMEN’S TRAVEL SAFETY POLICY

Objective: This policy is designed to ensure a safe travel experience for women employees who work extended hours at their work premises.

Applicability

  • It is applicable to all women employees across GILAC, including those on contractual roles.
  • It covers travel from Office/Site to Home post regular working hours, upon prior intimation
  • Late-night travel provision timings, as defined by HR, differ by location. This would fall into the following categories:
    • Offices in metros, tier-2 and tier-3 cities: Post 8pm
    • Remotely located offices/ extreme climatic conditions: Post 6pm

WORKING POST OFFICE HOURS 

Defining ‘Post Office Hours’ Women employees can opt to work post standard office timings during business exigencies, customer events, etc.

Intimation Guidelines In order to ensure safety norms, we request women to use the Godrejite portal and log-in their extended hours and their mode of travel back home. In the event that they require a safe home-drop service, an intimation is to be provided on the portal at least 6 hours prior, so that a provision for transportation can be made.
