The World’s Favourite Indian
With more than 18 million motorcycles sold in over 70 countries, the Bajaj brand is truly ‘The World’s Favourite Indian’. It is India’s No.1 motorcycle exporter with two out of three bikes sold internationally carrying a Bajaj badge. The company is also the world’s largest manufacturer of three-wheelers. Bajaj Auto is the first two-wheeler and three-wheeler company in the world to have reached a market capitalisation of INR one trillion and continues to be the world’s most valuable two and three-wheeler company.
Founded by Jamnalal Bajaj, a freedom fighter, philanthropist and a close confidant of Mahatma Gandhi, the Bajaj Group, is one of the most respected and renowned business houses of India. The journey started eighty years back in 1945 with a sugar factory in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. With growth as the ultimate vision, the group has diversified into a variety of business areas.
Bajaj Auto aims to foster a culture where individuals are recognized and celebrated for their capabilities, skills, and dynamic ideas. For us, diversity has become a critical part of our organization's DNA. At our Chakan plant, we have set up all women workforce-dominated assembly lines. Our women employees make high-end motorcycles like Dominar and KTMs, and the latest being the Chetak electric scooter. They are now equipped to do jobs that were earlier thought of as 'men only' activities. We were the first Indian company to implement collaborative robots on the assembly line, which immensely helped our shopfloor workforce and ensured that we keep our commitment to producing best-in-class motorcycles.
"Bajaj Auto was operating in a very heterogeneous world, in different business formats, in various product markets, and across 79 countries. It is a heterogeneous world, and you can't win in a heterogenous world by yourself being homogeneous. In the end, all diversity enriches us and makes the organization more vibrant as well as wholesome." -Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director

Talent: We put great efforts into attracting, developing, and retaining the best and the brightest talent.
"Whether it is manufacturing or sales, or R&D, women have stepped in and proven themselves with even better results than their male counterparts. Marketing or selling products that men might largely consume can at times be done better by women because they do have a very good outside-in view, and they don't make the cardinal mistake of trying to put themselves in the shoes of the consumer." - Mr. Sumeet Narang, President - Probiking
