Our Science, Technology and Medicine portfolio publishes at the cutting edge of academic research, working with leaders in academia, healthcare and industry. </p> <p>As part of our global cross-functional publishing team this role will work closely with colleagues in our offices in Auckland, Melbourne, Oxford and Philadelphia, as well as external global partners.</p> <p><strong><u>Key Accountabilities</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Portfolio Management and Growth</strong></p> <ul> <li>Creating and delivering strategic development plans that drive quality, growth, and profitability for our Science, Technology and Medicine portfolio.</li> <li>Overseeing and managing P&Ls under the direction of an Executive Publisher.</li> <li>Meeting and wherever possible exceeding revenue and article volume targets.</li> <li>Building, maintaining and sharing a thorough knowledge of market need and competitor activity to inform decisions on journal development</li> <li>Managing the successful transition to T&F of acquired titles</li> <li>Working with external Editors, Editorial teams and internal colleagues to commission and acquire new content</li> </ul> <p><strong>Relationship Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with academic societies</li> <li>Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with journal editors and potential editors from relevant academic communities.</li> <li>Developing networks within academic communities to position T&F as a subject leader</li> <li>Representing T&F Journals at conferences and editorial board meetings</li> <li>Championing portfolio initiatives with internal and external stakeholders</li> <li>Collaborating effectively with the team to exchange ideas, share best practices, and offer necessary support.</li> <li>Supporting the best interests of the business during negotiations, collaborating with their manager to ensure a positive outcomes for all parties involved</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operational Excellence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensuring compliance with T&F Journals policies and best practices</li> <li>Optimising publishing processes for efficiency and quality</li> <li>Collaborating with and supporting the work of the Editorial Services team</li> <li>Collaborating across departments to ensure publication quality and timeliness</li> <li>Assuming accountability for managing your own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps</li> </ul> </div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-qualifications"><div> <p class="googlejobs-paragraph--empty"/> <h2 class="title">Qualifications</h2> </div> <div class="wysiwyg" itemprop="qualifications"> <p><strong>The ideal candidate will have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven track record of working in scholarly publishing</li> <li>Knowledge of publishing best practice and policies, including an interest in publication ethics, funder mandates and industry trends</li> <li>Strong subject matter expertise or interest in a relevant field</li> <li>Experience working with external partners, including Editors, Editorial Boards, and Society leadership</li> <li>Experience with recruitment and engagement of external Academic Editors</li> <li>An understanding of financial reporting and analysis as they relates to academic journals and previous P&L responsibility</li> <li>Experience gathering competitive intelligence and performing market analysis</li> <li>Communication and presentation skills</li> </ul> </div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-additionalInformation"><div> <p class="googlejobs-paragraph--empty"/> <h2 class="title">Additional Information</h2> </div> <div class="wysiwyg" itemprop="incentives"> <p>You must have the right to work and live in India.</p> <p><strong>Location: </strong>The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model.
