Maternity Leave Policy
Maternity Time off allows us to comply with both the letter and spirit of the law on maternity rights and to make the maternity leave process transparent and supportive for the employees.
A female employee of Finastra India is entitled to be paid maternity leave before and after childbirth, for a total of not more than twenty-six (26) weeks (Inclusive of public holidays and weekly offs), with up to eight (8) weeks of maternity benefit to be given preceding the date of her delivery.
In compliance with the Maternity Benefit Act 1961, female employees adopting a child below the age of three months and commissioning mothers having children through surrogacy are entitled to paid maternity leave for a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date the child is handed over to them. If the age of the adopted child is more than 3 months, the adoptive mother will not be entitled to the maternity benefit under the existing rules.
A female employee who undergoes a tubectomy operation, on submission of prescribed proof, will be entitled to two (2) weeks paid leave, immediately following the day of the tubectomy operation. In addition, every female employee who undergoes a medical termination of pregnancy or miscarriage, on submission of prescribed proof, will be entitled to six (6) weeks of paid leave immediately after the day of medical termination of pregnancy or miscarriage.
In the event of any illness arising out of pregnancy, delivery, premature birth, miscarriage, medical termination of pregnancy, or a tubectomy operation, the employee will be eligible to take an additional paid leave of up to four (4) weeks.
Finastra reserves the right to seek a medical certificate from a doctor confirming the need for such leave due to pregnancy-related problems.
Paternity Leave Policy
This policy outlines the processes involved in paternity leave. Paternity Leave provides for a short period of paid leave immediately following the birth or adoption, or within a relatively short time thereafter.
An employee is eligible for a maximum of 10 working days in the service career towards Paternity Leave. It can be utilized at a maximum of 5 working days per Child or adoption of a child, for the first two children.
Paternity leave will need to be consumed at one stretch and not in parts. No Carry forward / Accumulation / Encashment is possible with Paternity leave. The Request for Paternity Leave Approval will need to be supported by a copy of the Birth Certificate or Adoption Certificate issued by the competent governmental body.
Any inappropriate claim or usage of Paternity Leave will result in disciplinary action.
Anti-Discrimination and Prevention of Harassment Policy

No one has to endure any type of harassment at Finastra, for any reason, at any time. Likewise, no one is permitted to harass anyone else at Finastra. Finastra does not tolerate any harassing behavior and treats all complaints of harassment seriously whether they are made informally or formally. We will instigate disciplinary or legal action against people who harass, bully, or abuse their authority. We will treat each other respectfully and challenge any unfair behavior. By respect, we mean due consideration for the feelings, wishes, and rights of others. We are all responsible for ensuring harassment doesn’t happen at Finastra and Finastra will investigate all complaints to ensure they are resolved quickly and fairly.
