The Council of Financial Planners (COFP) is a professional body of finance professionals, set up as a not for profit organization. The Council aims to spearhead the financial planning movement in India by creating awareness amongst the financial consumers about the need for holistic financial planning. It also aims to share and inculcate the best practices amongst the practitioners of financial planning as well as protect and represent the interest of all stakeholders in the profession. The Council has the following broad objectives To conduct professional training and continuing education to members, other professionals and general public in the areas of Financial Planning and Personal Finance. To represent, help and promote the interest of Financial Planners in India with the policy makers and existing regulators. To conduct or collaborate with other professional bodies and educational institutions for conducting research and development in the related areas of financial planning and personal finance. To work and co-ordinate with other professional bodies in spreading the knowledge about finance planning and personal finance. To publish newsletters, journals, white papers etc. for the members or public in the areas of financial planning and personal finance.
